Kiraki: Why 34% of young men refuse to marry (video)
This week’s topic of “Kiraki” (Sunday) program is problems of the young. According to the official data of January 1, 2016, among 2 billion 998 thousand people living in Armenia 764 thousand are young people under the age of 20-34 (about 25percent). Half of them live in cities. Social-economic problems of the young naturally affect their reproductive behavior and goals. According to National Youth Report of Armenia, 40 percent of married men have refused to have another child conditioned by social problems. 34 percent of young men refuse to get married again conditioned by social situation; young girls are less concerned about this issue before marriage (about 7.6 percent). Social-economic problems the young people face make them think about migration. Our colleagues from “Tsayg” and “Sevan” TV companies prepared materials on this topic.
