Within the frames of AGBU 110 celebration week, on “Reshaping Armenia and Engaging the Diaspora through Unity and Shared Responsibility” topic Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan touched upon the Government’s upcoming activities. In order to attract investors and achieve success in business sector, PM highlighted simplification of the RA Tax Code, noting that tax reforms are included in the primary reforms plans of the Government. “We should understand the following, I think that there is a need for simplification; we have adopted the Tax Code recently; we know very well that it wasn’t accepted unanimously and we understand very well their complaints or certain attitude, which is formulated like this ‘You increase the burden of those, who work in white field, and no attitude is shown towards shadow.’ And there may be some truth in this, but one thing is certain that if we do not fight against shadow, if we do not bring shadow into white field, we will simply have no future, that’s why when we take those necessary steps, when we are in contact with businesses, listen to the necessary reforms in the tax field and form that opinion, we will certainly take that step,” said Karen Karapetyan. Head of the Government also highlighted the importance of establishing sustainable contact with the society. P.S. As PM noted he was awaiting that the meeting would be held at round table with tea, and didn’t imagine that he would answer questions on the stage. Not all the questions collected on Facebook were raised during the interview; questions were selected. They promised that the office to the PM will answer the rest of the questions.
