Gazprom Armenia CJSC, a subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom, applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) on November 3, asking the latter to revoke the decision of May 31 and review gas tariffs for Armenian consumers. In its Friday sitting, the PSRC approved the new tariffs for the natural gas for local consumers. Accordingly, the price for each 1000 cubic meters of gas sold to socially vulnerable consumers will be 100,000 drams, including the value added tax, for up to 600 cubic meters of gas, and 139 000 drams for over 600 cubic meters. For ordinary subscribers, who consume up to 10,000 cubic meters of gas per month, the PSRC set the tariff at AMD 139 per cubic meter, instead of the current AMD 146,7. The new tariffs will come into effect starting from January, 2017.
