“I want to fix once for all. The state language of Armenia is Armenian, it is one of the fundamental values of independence and the law on language is not subject to change,” said Minister of Science and Education after the Government session, touching upon the rumors that Russian may become the second state language of Armenia. He says that the development of foreign languages is another matter, “If we want to become a region having scientific-educational potential, the citizens of our country must know foreign languages besides their native language. In European countries, besides their native language, three other foreign languages are used. We put forward the issue of learning and using at least two foreign languages,” noted Levon Mkrtchyan. Levon Mkrtchyan asked to differentiate these two issues.
