Henrik Mkhitaryan named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Armenia (video)
UNICEF Representative in Armenia Tanya Radochay and captain of the Armenian National Football Team Henrik Mkhitaryan signed on November 9 a memorandum of understanding on the promotion and protection of children's rights. Thus, Mkhitaryan became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
In her speech, Tanya Radochay stressed that their choice did not fall on Henrik Mkhitaryan by accident. She stressed that the Manchester United midfielder recently participated in a charity event in England, where he met with ill children.
“I thank you all for entrusting this important role to me. I am confident that we will achieve greater results with UNICEF to promote the right of every child. Our cooperation will start from the education sector. Together with UNICEF, I shall take active steps to create equal conditions for all children,” Henrik Mkhitaryan said at the official ceremony.
