“Keeping Andrias Ghukasyan in custody is a matter of personal vendetta”

From the legal point of view, keeping Andrias Ghukasyan in custody is completely incomprehensible, so non-legal version remains- personal or political. In the interview with “A1+”, Vice President of “Heritage” party Armen Martirosyan, touching upon the rejection of appeal to free on bail member of “Rise up, Armenia” initiative Andrias Ghukasyan, noted that in any case keeping a political figure in custody is political persecution. “It is evident that political persecution against Andrias continues in the form of detention. It continues against us as the criminal case is still underway, and it continues against Andrias, as he is still in custody,” he said. “I think that it is a matter of personal vendetta. The authorities are very offended in that field and in those terms they are trying to postpone release of Andrias Ghukasyan within the frames of vendetta. Me and Davit Sanasaryan are in freedom, as we didn’t use violence against any policeman, and also don’t hinder the implementation of investigation,” said Armen Martirosyan.
