“Constitutional changes are connected with the EEU membership,” told former lawmaker of the SC Azat Arshakyan today at the meeting with journalists. “There must be a fake president, a fake state, fake constitution. That was the real aim of the constitutional amendments. Armenia will not have an elected official anymore,” he said. Azat Arshakyan thinks that the leaders of the EEU make decisions in our country, “Nazarbayev and Lukashenko have chosen a partner in Armenia represented by Serzh Sargsyan. We haven’t even been asked.” The NA Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) lawmaker Gagik Melikyan, who was present at the press conference, naturally, didn’t agree with him, “We ourselves have chosen the way to democracy. At the Constitution it was decided to shift to parliamentary government system, as it is a more democratic option. I don’t know whether Serzh Sargsyan will have a post or not, but he will be always engaged in active politics.”
