Gagik Jhangiryan, former Head of the preliminary investigation group into October 27 case and the NA Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction member, will never speak about that case on this day. Though, son of Karen Demirchyan, who was killed on October 27, is ready to speak on this day of mourning- if there was no October 27, we would live in a completely different country, “Everything was done to conceal the crime.” The NA HAK faction Head Levon Zurabyan says that if today’s authorities put any efforts in order to reveal this tragedy, we would know, “But it was done neither during the tenure of the second president, nor the third one. It itself shows that if they don’t want to reveal, they are linked to it in some ways.” Touching upon the role of foreign powers in the organization of October 27 events, Levon Zurabyan doesn’t rule out anything, but the fact is that it was implemented by Armenians, “So first and foremost the people must be found, who being from Armenia, being maybe from the Armenian authorities in that case, had their complicity in that crime.” The NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has no suspicions connected with the role of foreign powers, “I don’t think that Armenians could do anything like that.” On that day Galust Sahakyan was in the NA hall, he clearly remembers his and the hall’s first impression, when the armed men broke into the hall, “The whole hall first thought that it was a joke.” Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov finds resemblances between October 27 and seizure of the police regiment; Armenians again killed Armenians, “Those were Karen Demirchyan’s last words, when he said that the problems couldn’t be solved in that way.” Mr Sharmazanov cannot say anything about foreign trace; he says if on that day Galust Sahakyan was inside, it means he may know something about foreign trace, “I wasn’t engaged in the politics then.” The fact is that according to the Deputy Speaker, Armenian statehood was beheaded on October 27.
