Reduction of tuition fees for Syrian Armenians discussed in Government
Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan today at the Government session has presented a bill on partial reduction of tuition fees for Syrian Armenian students. “Government together with Gyulbenkyan fund and AGBU, for already 4 years have covered 70 % of tuition fees of socially vulnerable students,” noted Hranush Hakobyan and added, that in case of adopting the bill that aid will continue. The Minister of Finance has had objections, “I propose that the aid be at the expense of Ministry of Science and Education, taking into account the financial situation of the country,” said Vardan Aramyan. “Why didn’t you discuss this issue at the pre-session? If you haven’t discussed, now don’t bring it into the session,” replied PM angrily and gave two days to clarify the issue.
