Goverment reconsidered its decision and is against bill on Nairit Plant (video)
At the start of today’s parliament sitting, Head of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction, Naira Zohrabyan, said that the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly had discussed and adopted a statement on the genocide of Yazidis in northern Iraq. “I call on the National Assembly to discuss the statement and express its position on the issue,” she said. “I am aware of everything and I shall decide myself when to start discussions on the given issue. With regard to the bill concerning the Nairit plant, I must say that the government has expressed a negative opinion about it,” said Galust Sahakyan, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly. In response to him, the head of the BHK faction said, “I have spoken to the minister and he expressed a positive attitude. If he has changed his mind, then the problem does not lie with the BHK, but with the government. It would be much better if they said whether they are for or against the initiative.” “I also think that the problem lies with them. Judging from the information that they have provided one gets the impression that your work has not been fully appreciated,” Mr. Sahakyan said.
