Levon Zurabyan proposes to hold auditions on issue of monopolies (video)
At the NA session today the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Head Levon Zurabyan, addressing a question to the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan, noted that the monopoly of mass consumption goods continues in the RA, and it has become the biggest corruption evil, “It affects the consumers, the pensioners, the socially vulnerable class, who have to buy products at artificially exaggerated prices. The business is also affected, as the market is closed for competition and there are baseless expenses.” Levon Zurabyan also touched upon PM Karen Karapetyan’s statement that everybody can carry out importation without obstacles, and if there are obstacles, people can turn to him, “The solution proposed by PM is calling him, but it isn’t efficient in reality. I propose that you, as the NA Speaker, for keeping this issue in the spotlight of the society convene auditions in order to understand what is happening in the sphere of monopolies, which events are urgent.” He also added that everybody will benefit from those auditions. Galust Sahakyan answered by saying that it is possible to hold auditions at any time, but he claimed that facts are needed, “What’s more, if the PM spoke about it, in the near future he will present his formula. During the discussion you posed a question and got an answer that you can turn to him. I think that rather serious and large structure is engaged in that issue, you should wait a little and see what the Government does.”
