We need to implement anti-crisis steps in Armenia, Aram Sargsyan, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia, told journalists on Friday. “If [Prime Minister] Karen Karapetyan and his team sustain a defeat, ‘reaction’ will win in the country, I mean the oligarchic system which has drawn the country to this state,” Mr. Sargsyan said adding that his party had presented 23-point proposals to the Karapetyan-led government. The proposals have been discussed with Gagik Martirosyan, Chief Advisor to the Armenian PM. First of all, we need to give moral, political and legal assessment to everything that has happened. No assessment has been given for 25 years to the policy carried out in Armenia. As a result, the new government commits new offenses and crimes, and no one is made accountable for it,” Mr. Sargsyan continued. The chairman of the Democratic Party says they have also proposed to make an inventory in the country. “To be able to understand what we need to do, we should understand what we have,” Mr. Sargsyan concluded.
