Armenia’s leading chess player Levon Aronian and his wife, Arianne Caoili, have undergone a serious ‘ordeal.’ Last week, the couple decided to climb the highest peak in Iran - Mount Damavand. A strong storm approached during the ascend, interrupting connection with the group. No news was received from the couple trapped in the mountain for two days. A1+’s sports journalist contacted Armenian Mountaineering and Hiking Federation to get information about Aronian and his wife. We were informed that the couple had returned to the camp and are currently kept in the Armenian Embassy in Tehran.
