Member of the Founding Parliament movement, Garo Yeghnukian, has started an open-ended hunger strike. He is kept in the National Security Service. “Garo is alone in the cell. The other inmate has been taken to another cell,” Yeghnukian’s lawyer Tigran Hayrapetyan told A1+. The lawyer says he met his client today. Yeghnukian was in high spirits. “He had shaved and looked younger. He is going to make another statement in the coming days,” Tigran Hayrapetyan said. Yeghnukian went on a hunger strike to protest ill-treatment against him. A court in Yerevan rejected on Thursday a motion to release Yeghnukian on $1 million bail. The member of the Founding Parliament movement is accused of aiding the Sasna Dzrer group which seized a police station in Yerevan in July.
