In the dock: Davit Hovhannisyan appeared in court based on testimony of two police officers (video)
After the protests following the seizure of a police station in Yerevan by the Sasna Dzrer group, Davit Hovhannisyan, a member of the “Rise up, Armenia” initiative, was involved in a criminal case both as a victim and defendant. The first case was filed by the Special Investigation Committee, the second by the Special Investigative Service. Davit Hovhannisyan appeared in the dock based on the testimony of two police officers. “This is progress,” lawyer Hovik Arsenyan said reminding that after the March 1, 2008 events in Armenia, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) called on the law enforcement authorities not to file cases on the basis of testimony given by one police officer.
