How do elderly people live in Armenia? (video)

Young people's attitudes and behaviour towards the elderly are good and positive. Renowned actor Rafael Kotanjyan agrees with this. "Today I was drinking coffee [in a cafe] and a few guys expressed willingness to pay the bill for me. That is a trivial thing, of course, but I was pleased as a citizen,” he said. The actor says elderly people are not ignored in Armenia. Yerevan still bears the atmosphere of warm human relations characteristic of the Soviet period. "The youth in our city respect elderly people, especially those who deserve such treatment,” Mr. Kotanjyan said. Master Ruben, who is famous for his duduks, holds a different opinion. The 90-year-old man says, “We have many gawky young people. They make various sounds and exclamations when they see a girl or woman passing by.” October 1 is marked as International Day of Older Persons. Details in the video
