Shots were heard in Geghamavan village in Gegharkunik marz on Friday evening hours before the end of the pre-election campaign in the community, Armtimes.com reports. The Press Service of the Armenian Police confirmed the information, saying they are preparing material to initiate a case. The source says the mayor’s house was the intended target of the shooting. Talking to Armtimes.com, Head of Geghamavan village Mnatsakan Vardanyan said shots were fired outside his home but he did not know who the target was. “They fired 8 or 9 times from a car, I do not know the details. The atmosphere is tense here because of the upcoming elections,” Mr. Vardanyan said.
