The Legal Centre for Justice and Human Rights dedicated to the fair solution of the Artsakh issue and Armenian Genocide opened on Wednesday, September 28. In reply to journalists’ question whether the new centre will not interfere with the activity of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau's Hay Dat office, Kiro Manoyan said, “Hay Dat Committees and Offices have political nature, whereas this centre is merely a legal structure. In any case, from now on, we shall have a centre which will provide legal consultation and advice. In addition, the centre will track lawsuits studied in the USA and other countries.” Kiro Manoyan added that the research conducted by the centre shows that international law is not perfect when it comes to administration of justice of previous years. “There are some opportunities for individuals and groups to file lawsuits in national courts of different countries, including Turkey, and then try to appeal to higher courts,” he said. The Washington-based centre will coordinate issues related to human rights violations, identify potential claimants, study violations and collect the necessary evidence.
