Khachatur Gichyan, who provided a truck to “Sasna Dzrer” group, is in the Hospital for Convicts PI. Advocate Tigran Sargsyan told “A1+” that yesterday he visited Khachatur Gichyan, at present his health condition is better. After September 10 court hearing on extension of detention period, 69-year-old Khachatur Gichyan was transferred to Hospital for Convicts because of heart attacks. The advocate notes that there are no bases to keep Khachatur Gichyan in custody, that’s why he had appealed to the Court of Appeal. “Keeping him in custody is baseless. He introduced himself to law enforcement authorities on his own free will. But it cannot hinder the preliminary investigation of the case, as all the defendants into the case are in custody. Presumptions aren’t a basis for detention,” said the advocate. To remind, Khachatur Gichyan is charged with seizure of buildings and communication means and illegal storage and transportation of arms.
