“The number of people engaged in motorcycling in Armenia is growing year by year, but our athletes still haven’t gained serious achievements in big international championships, as they lack equipment. Many sportsmen still ride Cezet motorcycle of 1984 production, which have exhausted themselves. It’s true, some of them have obtained Japanese motorcycles with their own means, but it is too little to achieve success,” Arsen Sarkisov, Chairman of “Arvikon” automotorclub, told “A1+”. With the efforts of this club and sponsored by Yerevan Municipality, motocross tournaments have been held in Armenia during the recent years. “Motorcycling Federation has been registered in Armenia, but alas, it doesn’t organize any races. We also wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of Yerevan Municipality, which provided the territory near Tsitsernakaberd highway, which is very convenient for trainings,” said the experienced specialist.
