Armenia's development is not a priority for traditional parties (video)

Traditional Armenia parties operating in Diaspora communities have not found their place in a country, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its independence on September 21. They were given ‘green light’ on February 26, 1991 when Armenia adopted the law on “Public-Political Organizations.” The first political party, Armenakian, was formed in Van in 1885. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun), Social Democrat Hunchakian Party and Ramkavar Liberal Party were established later. The last two parties did not stand out with their activism in the political domain. For years, the primary purpose of the traditional parties was to achieve international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. However, they have not taken real efforts to develop Armenia, which was to be one of their primary objectives.
