Azerbaijani GM becomes Levon Aronian's rival in Mikhail Tal Memorial

The final list of participants in the Mikhail Tal Memorial was published on Friday, September 16. As reported by the Executive Director of the Russian Chess Federation, Mark Glukhovsky, ten Grandmasters will participate in the 10th edition of the international tournament named after the 8th World Champion [Mikhail Tal] which will be played in the Museum of Russian Impressionism (Moscow) from September 26 to October 5. Anish Giri (Netherlands) and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) were the last to give their consent. Before that, the tournament organizers had sent invitations to GMs Viswanathan "Vishy" Anand (India), Boris Gelfand (Israel), Li Chao (China), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), Pyotr Svidler (Russia), Evgeny Tomaszewski (Russia), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) and Levon Aronian (Armenia). International chess tournaments in memory of Mikhail Tal are regularly organized in Moscow since 2006 and traditionally gather the strongest players in the world
