Karen Avagyan becomes Weightlifting Champion of Europe

Armenian weightlifter Karen Avagyan won gold at the European Junior Championships in Poland. Competing in the 85 kg category, the 17-year-old Armenian sportsman came first after lifting 330 kg, the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) said on its website. He lifted 24 kg more than Jakub Michalski (Poland) who came second with his results. Armenia’s Hmayak Harutyunyan came 4th with a result of 285 kg.
