There are no hostages here: Do not be engaged in clownery - Varujan Avetisyan
Varujan Avetisyan, one of the members of the Sasna Dzrer armed group, told 1in.am news agency that he is ready to release the ambulance crew if a new team of medics is sent [to the seized police station] to replace them. He said the medics were well and were performing their professional duties. In reply to the question why they did not allow the wounded persons to leave the area of the police station and be taken to hospital for treatment, Mr Avetisyan ‘Pavlik Manukyan was shot and wounded when he tried to hand over his wounded comrade. Law enforcers violated the agreement [with us]. We are ready to stay inside the building and we shall never surrender to the National Security Service.' "All those international structure and doctors who raised an outcry claiming that we held medics hostage here, had better be so kind as to say that there were doctors who expressed readiness to come and perform their duties here,” he added.
