Armen Mikaelyan, member of the Founding parliament, will remain under arrest. The Court of General Jurisdiction of Malatia Sebastia administrative districts today considered the decision of the preliminary investigation body to be lawful. Armen Mikaelyan’s wife continues to claim that there were no grounds to arrest him. “We were accompanying the parent to home, we passed the lane, two cars with tinted windows came and stopped in front of us. 8-10 people got out of the car, they took him away by car using force. Do the people in civilian clothes have a right to steal a person in that way,” Liana Yedigaryan told “A1+”. The incident took place on July 27, when they were returning from Khorenatsi street. On next day Liana managed to see her husband in the detention facility. “He said that in the car he was handcuffed and they put arms in his pocket.” According to the police, Armen Mikaelyan was taken into police station for illegal possession of arms. As a result of search, homemade pistol charged with 7 bullets was found. Armen Mikaelyan, who is a programmer, has three underage children. His 7-year-old son always asks where his father is, “We try to explain. He can always see use of force by the policemen and says that they again caught his father,” adds Liana Yedigaryan. Tomorrow it will be 72 hours after the arrest of the member of the Founding Parliament. After that it will be clear whether the preliminary investigation body will apply to the court in order to choose a precautionary measure or not.
