In a statement issued on Wednesday, Armenia’s Ministry of Health gave the names of doctors and their assistants who were taken hostage by anti-government gunmen besieged in the Erebuni patrol police building earlier in the day. “Some time ago, Norayr Tevanyan, Salvador KHechoyan, Davit Tonoyan, Malina Margaryan, arrived at the regiment of the patrol security service In order to perform their professional duties but they were taken hostage by the members of the Sasna Dzrer group. This is a condemnable and unacceptable practice in the world when an attempt is made to raise a hand against specialists who are carrying out humanitarian mission.  The medical community strongly condemns this immoral act and demands the immediate release of medical workers without any preconditions. The gunmen did not even take into consideration the fact that our doctors have been rendering them all necessary medical assistance since the first day of the events,” reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Health.
