Sos Gimishyan: Authorities must take steps (video)
During the negotiations with Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasoun) armed group the authorities must do their best in order to meet the demands of the members of the group, which are also the demands of one part of citizens. According to Sos Gimishyan, the leader of the Armenian Christian Democratic Renaissance Party, it is within the interests of the state to carry out release of Erebuni police station without bloodshed. “There shouldn’t be any attack, as there will be victims from both sides as a result of that attack, there will be bloodshed, after which it will be impossible to negotiate, come to an agreement, understand, think.” He says that the authorities must take steps and resort to political changes, “They [authorities] should present their offers to the members of the group, say that they are ready to take this or that step, and let they lay down the arms and come to an agreement.” Mr Gimishyan is sure that it is equally dangerous if the authorities remain inactive and don’t take any steps, “No one must be killed, each Armenian is important to us.” He says that various international events have shown that in such cases sometimes snipers appear and two parties sustain many losses, and instability begins, “It must be ruled out.” Sos Gimishyan has recently noticed attempts of foreign intervention in the current processes, “If there is such a situation, two parties must lay down the arms.”
