NSS appeals to members of Sasna Dzrer group
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) calls on members of the Sasna Dzrer armed group who seized a Yerevan police building on July 17 to lay down their arms, exercise good judgement, and surrender to law enforcement agencies. In his Facebook page, Ashot Aharonyan, Spokesman for the Armenian Police, posted NSS's appeal to the gunmen in the siezed police building. In the appeal, the NSS particularly spelled out the Article under which the group members will be tried and convicted. It said the group has committed the following crimes;
- taken several people hostage (Article 218 of the Criminal Code)
- seized buildings, structures, transport and communication means (Article 219)
- purchased, transported and used illegal weapons (Article 235)
- Leave from the pass permit door
- Hold weapons overhead and, turning right, walk about 50 meters
- Lay down all weapons near the umbrellas installed near the building materials store
- Walking in single file down the middle of the street, approach the police
