Armenia’s leadership is to take an exclusive decision to make Sasna Dzrer group members accountable for their actions, says human rights activist Samvel Mkrtchyan. The chairman of the 'Community and Right' NGO says the group committed a serious criminal offense, but it is necessary to make an exclusive decision to calm down passions and avoid further escalation. “The President of the Republic of Armenia has the exclusive right to make decisions outside the law," he stressed. Samvel Mkrtchyan believes that the solution to the crisis should be based on compromises. “It is impossible to resolve the conflict within an hour or within one day. The process can take much longer time, a week or two. Anyway, the government must make a concession in order to put an end to the impasse.” The human rights activist says changes in Armenia are made in a constitutional way, but the authorities should look back on their past path to understand what they have done that has led to this situation.
