Vice president of “Heritage” party Armen Martirosyan doesn’t think that the decision of opening a press center in exchange for releasing the hostages shows the defeat of the armed group members. “The person, who wants to save his homeland and takes such critical steps for that, who always struggles, cannot be a loser. I have always been sure that they, in essence, they won’t do anything negative against the policemen and our citizens. I am sure that there is no problem connected with that. By contacting the press they are trying to spread their ideas and prove their justice,” says Armen Martirosyan. To remind, on July 17, members of the group calling itself Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasun) stormed a police building in Yerevan’s Erebuni district, killing policeman Arthur Vanoyan and taking several others hostage. Four other policemen and one of the participants of the attack were wounded. As a result of the operations carried out until today, 5 people have been released. At the moment there are 2 hostages; RA Deputy Police Chief Vardan Yeghiazaryan and Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Valeri Osipyan.
