“Contact with press is more important than water and bread”
Contact with press will give Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasoun) group a direct connection to contact the society. “Which, I think, is more important for them than water and bread. In reply to the question whether in that case it won’t be easier to neutralize the armed group, the human rights activist noted that the people, who entered that area armed, they could foresee such a solution to the issue. “Their main aim is not taking hostage and killing the hostages, knowing them and being aware of all their recent statements,” noted human rights activist. Varuzhan Avetisyan, member of Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasoun) group, press secretary of the Founding Parliament, has informed “A1+” that as a result of the negotiations, decision was made to free two hostage policemen, then the general and the colonel on condition that a press center will be established. To remind, on July 17, members of the group calling itself Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasun) stormed a police building in Yerevan’s Erebuni district, killing policeman Arthur Vanoyan and taking several others hostage. Four other policemen and one of the participants of the attack were wounded. As a result of the operations carried out until today, 5 people have been released. At the moment there are 2 hostages; RA Deputy Police Chief Vardan Yeghiazaryan and Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Valeri Osipyan.
