V. Avetisyan: “Two policemen will be released”
Varuzhan Avetisyan, member of Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasoun) group, press secretary of the Founding Parliament, has informed “A1+” that as a result of the negotiations, decision was made to free two hostage policemen, then the general and the colonel on condition that a press center will be established. Varuzhan Avetisyan invited “A1+”to the press center. The negotiations were held with the mediation of the NKR NA lawmaker, Artsakh hero Vitali Balasanyan. To remind, on July 17, members of the group calling itself Sasna Dzrer (Daredevils of Sasun) stormed a police building in Yerevan’s Erebuni district, killing policeman Arthur Vanoyan and taking several others hostage. Four other policemen and one of the participants of the attack were wounded. As a result of the operations carried out until today, 5 people have been released. At the moment there are 4 hostages, including the RA Deputy Police Chief Vardan Yeghiazaryan and Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Valeri Osipyan. On July 20 there were clashes between the policemen and the citizens. 51 people were taken to the hospital. 136 people were taken to the police station and 16 people were arrested.
