Yerevan has joined International Chocolate Day celebrations for the first time. The LOFT club together with John Mkrtchyan, founder of DAWG Factory Productions hosted a Choco Fest for all chocolate lovers. The visitors were treated chocolate bars which the organizers say betters one’s mood, increases the amount of serotonin in the brain. The event gave an opportunity to local businesses to introduce their products to wider audiences, expand their customer base, advertise their companies, become familiar with their competitors and who not, give people a sweet and delicious day. 3 “Companies that have not yet entered the market have joined the initiative,” said Ani Avagyan, a representative of LOFT in charge of communications and outreach programs. 7 During the festival, the guests were also treated drinks with chocolate. The festival brought together eight chocolate producers - Arcolad, Grig Chocolat, Nairyan, Sunny Day, Choco Tad, Choco Din, Marengo and Gourmet Dourme. 4 Chocolate Day was invented for the first time by the French in 1995 and has been celebrated by chocolate fanciers annually since then. Different events dedicated to this sweet holiday are held around the world on this day. Also, excursions to chocolate manufacturing plants and factories are organized on July 11. 6
