Gaspar Hayrapetyan defeats Turkish rival
The Armenian team wasn’t able to win a medal at Cadet European Judo Championships 2016 underway in the city of Vantaa, Finland. Today our athletes Boris Shatveryan (73 kg) and Arman Avanesyan (90 kg) performed unsuccessfully in the first rounds and left the fight. On the first day of the championship, 50 kg Gaspar Hayrapetyan was close to the third place. He defeated Turkish athlete Abdulaziz Kara and entered the consolation game. Alas, in the decisive fight our athlete lost to Russian rival and remained without a medal. In other weight categories, our sportsmen Gor Hovsepyan, Arman Mardoyan (55 kg), Narek Umroyan (60 kg) and Robert Torosyan (66 kg) lost to their rivals in the first rounds and ended their performances.
