Foreign currency rates will not increase after Britain's vote to exit the European Union, also known s Brexit, economist Vilen Khachatryan said on Friday. “All those who have loans to pay in the US dollar can breathe freely for some time as the dollar prices will not go up,” he said. The economist says the country’s exports to the UK made only 0,1 percent of the total exports. In January-April 2016 period, exports to the UK amounted to only 0.1 percent of total exports. Only 3 percent of the imported goods come to Armenia from the United Kingdom. Speaking about the latest visit of Pope Francis, Mr Khachatryan said the visit will have a positive impact on our economy and tourism. “About 600 journalists were accredited to cover the Pope’s visit to Armenia. This is already a positive factor since those journalists provided free advertising of Armenia. This will increase tourist flows to Armenia,” he said expressing hope that Armenia will better its position in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2016. Today Armenia comes 89th among139 countries worldwide.
