The United States of America has reiterated its interest in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, U.S. State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said when commenting on the telephone conversations between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. “He did speak with both the president of Armenia and Azerbaijan. I don’t have a detailed readout for you. We’ll see if we can get something a little bit later today that – but the conversation did happen – those conversations – it wasn’t one call, it was two – did happen. And, of course, they talked about Nagorno-Karabakh and where things are going and our desires to see a peaceful resolution there,” John Kirby said. Earlier, speaking to Voice of America, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick (USA) said it would be possible to conduct effective talks only in case the ceasefire was observed. The ambassador added that the sides have disagreements over several proposals which are on the negotiating table at present but the parties can reach an agreement, moreover, the time is ripe for it.
