Nikol Pashinyan: You paid for the March 1 bloodshed with cash (video)

After I announced during the debates on the new Electoral Code that there should be only one opposition force in Armenia, and the Civil Contract political party pretends to be that force, many ran into psychotic depression began in the NA hall, Armenian lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan announced in the National Assembly today. “Cries are heard in this hall that certain forces want to be one and unique. Sorry, but who else can have such a claim? You? You who have joined Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan and filled Armenian prisons with political prisoners? You who have supported fraud for many years and continue that evil practice?” Pashinyan said. Then he began to speak about each and every political force without giving their names. “I know a political force here that says theirs is a traditional political party, so traditional that in the past year their primary concern has been to change their name and get rid of the former name. They change the name of the party and faction. So if things continue this way, they may change their names and surnames, too. They may grow beards so that no one will be able to recognize them in the street. And now they say that people are speaking here about the Electoral Code without knowing its content… And these words belong to a representative of a political force whose members read out in a trembling voice texts written for them. You had better speak about pears and apples instead of standing and announcing that the opposition is not unified. We cannot and we shall not unite with Serzh Sargsyan’s distinguished and longstanding customers. Now they say we are their colleagues and… How can we be colleagues? Your colleagues are Samvel Alexanyan, Serzh Sargsyan and Hovik Abrahamyan… Mr Pashinyan reminded his fellow colleagues that once they were urged to fight against the authorities. “What should we fight for – two ministerial portfolios and four deputy ministerial posts? Or for a brandy company and TV?” he said hinting at the Country of Law Party (OEK). “I shall hit you with this bottle,” OEK representative Heghine Bisharyan shouted from her seat. “Is there valerian here? Do calm down,” Pashinyan said. “Did you forget that you were in the coalition government until 2014 and you did nothing but pressing the button? Are people aware of it? Or do they know that you paid for the March 1 bloodshed with cash and cash positions?”
