Arsen Khojayan charged with willful murder of minor girl
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the motive, circumstances of minor girl’s murder were found; the resident of Tavush region, 25 year-old A. Khojayan was charged with willful murder, the Investigative Committee reports. On June 24 at 20:55 a call was received informing that there was a stabbed person by the roadside to the village of Verin Karmiraghbyur. The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site and found that the minor resident, born in 1999, with numerous bodily injuries inflicted with a sharp cutting item was taken to “Berd” medical center from the 7th km of the road of Berd – Verin Karmiraghbyur village. She died in medical center without regaining consciousness. On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Necessary investigatory actions were conducted to find all circumstances of the case, the motive of murder. Through investigation sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that on the day of the incident – on June 24, 2016 the minor girl with the resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village A. Khojayan left for the village of Verin Karmiraghbyur from Berd town in a taxi. Before getting to the village they got off the taxi and walked to the village together; according to initial data, the young man had used alcoholic drink and wanted to walk to become sober. Through investigation it was found that on the way a row on personal matters erupted between them during which A. Khojayan stabbed the girl with a knife for numerous times inflicting bodily injuries incompatible with life. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against A. Khojayan according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder), the latter was interrogated. The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to verify the circumstances mentioned in A. Khojayan’s testimony. A number of examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the case. Note: Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
