Hrant Bagratyan: What if they are cheating you promising to amend the Code after its adoption? (video)
Head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, Levon Zurabyan, says the new Electoral Code of Armenia was drafted during the discussions in the 4+4+4 format. “Contrary to some assertions, I want to announce that there is no consensus on the EC, there is only agreement with respect to certain provisions. If the HAK finds that the draft complies with the text of the agreement, we shall vote for it, but we do not have such a decision,” Mr Zurabyan said in the National Assembly on June 27. Minister-Chief of Government Staff Davit Harutyunyan responded, saying he is ready for more meetings and debates, however, if they find no time for discussions before the vote, ‘the HAK faction is free to vote the way it wishes.’ “They say there is a consensus over the EC. Suppose there is, how do you imagine it? What if they are cheating you promising to change the Code after its adoption? Time flies so fast,” said HAK lawmaker Hrant Bagratyan.
