Shahen Harutyunyan is in police station
Shant Harutyunyan’s son Shahen Harutyunyan considers the report of the police that he didn’t obey the legal claim of the police officers to be baseless. “They simply wanted to remove me from Gyumri. Only when taking me to the police station the police officers noticed that I was hiding something under my shirt. I hid it the way it couldn’t be seen,” Shahen Harutyunyan told “A1+”. Shahen Harutyunyan was hiding the poster reading “Freedom for Shant Harutyunyan and other political prisoners” under his shirt in order to inform Pope Francis about more than twenty political prisoners in Armenia. After the incident Shahen Harutyunyan spent 11 hours in the police station. At present he is in Division of Alternative Punishments’ Execution. Shahen is sure that he will be kept there until the departure of Pope Francis. Administrative proceedings have been instituted against Shahen Harutyunyan for not obeying the legal claim of the police officer.
