Arakel Movsisyan listening to liturgy (video)
At the moment Pope Francis and Garegin II are offering joint Divine Liturgy in Holy Etchmiadzin. For about two hours before the ceremony all the roads to Etchmiadzin had been closed. Only those, who have invitations, can follow the ceremony. Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan, Prime Minister, Speaker of the NA, lawmakers, social, political and cultural figures are taking part in the liturgy.
The NKR NA Speaker Ashot Ghilyan is also present at the ceremony. In the interview with journalists he noted that Pope’ messages on peace are very important for our region and especially our neighbor must understand it.
Chairman of Hanrapetutyun (Republic) Party Aram Sargsyan, who is also present at the liturgy, highlighted the use of term ‘Armenian Genocide’, noting that it will certainly have great impact on the world and it will be followed by new recognitions. He says that first of all our authorities must realize Pope’s messages on peace.
Beloved composer Tigran Mansuryan was also taking part in the liturgy. He says during these days important event is taking place in Armenia, which brings forward both a feeling of pride and gives a chance to draw conclusions.
The NA Republican lawmaker Arakel Movsisyan has also come to listen to the liturgy.
