Lombardi: The relations between Holy See and Turkey are good
Can we assume that the Diaspora influenced Pope so that he comes to Armenia and feels the pain of Armenians? In reply to this question at press conference in Gyumri, Federico Lombardi, Director of the Holy See Press Office, answered, “Your viewpoint, maybe, is justified. As for the role of the Diaspora, yes, Pope Francis has deep relationship with the Armenian community of Argentina.” Lombardi didn’t answer the question in essence. The journalists also asked how Turkey will react to this visit, “The relations between Holy See and Turkey are good, I don’t think that there is any reason for concern. There is a need to establish bases for reconciliation,” noted Lombardi.
