Henrikh Mkhitaryan to stay at Dortmund
Armenian national football team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan will continue to play at Dortmund Borussia until summer of 2017, when his contract expires. “We have been negotiating with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for four months for him to extend his contract with us,” Watzke says. “Now we know that it is not extended, it was never our commitment that Mkhitaryan may leave us prematurely. We have intensely discussed the question of an early transfer in all club bodies and came to the conclusion that Mkhitaryan will stay in Dortmund next season.” To note, at present two English clubs, Manchester United and Arsenal, are interested in Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The German FC is reluctant to sell him, thought, he refuses to extend the contract and next year he will get a status of a free player.
