This year confidence towards the Armenian army has increased by 2.7 percent. It is the result of the poll carried out by Gallup International Association. The association carried out the poll after the Four-day war in order to find out the impact of the war situation on the people. The same poll showed that at the moment 81 percent of the society is ready to leave for the frontline. “The majority of the society, 86.4 percent, received information about the military operations on TV, 44 percent from Facebook, 43.8 percent from the surroundings, 19.7 percent from the Facebook page of the MoD spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan and 15.1 percent from the news websites,” noted Aram Navasardyan, Director of the Armenian representation of the Gallup International Association. The results of the poll showed that 86.4 percent of the society thinks that the repetition of April hostilities may be excluded by obtaining new military equipment. 38.1 percent answered that the repetition may be ruled out by elimination of corruption in the army, 29 percent- by increasing the military readiness of the servicemen, 20.5 percent- by increasing the number of contractual servicemen. “It is useful information so that both the army and the ministries can find the shortcomings in their work and try to correct them,” noted Mr Navasardyan. The MoD spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that the Ministry didn’t participate in the conduction of the poll, “I learnt about it only yesterday,” he noted. Arman Navasardyan added that they carried out the poll at their initiative. The poll was carried out after April war, on May 13-24, in the RA territory, among 1106 citizens above 18.
