A. Hovhannisyan on united air defense agreement: the Armenian side will decide what to do (video)
The MoD spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan refuses to comment on the video disseminated on the internet, where the events at the military posts during Four-day war are revealed. He urges to clarify everything from the side which has disseminated it or from the NKR MoD. In reply to the question by “A1+” whether the video shouldn’t have appeared on the internet, he answered, “Of course, it shouldn’t have been, but it is an issue to be discussed at another place, on other platform. Frankly speaking, there is a punishment for that in the whole world.” While touching upon the drawbacks of the Armed forces, he noted that there will always be drawbacks, “It isn’t possible to fully eliminate mistakes for a working person, especially, during the active military operations, in the atmosphere of security issues. There are drawbacks in this situation, but besides drawback, the most important thing is achievements. Artsrun Hovhannisyan also touched upon the united air defense agreement with the RF. He stated that in case of necessity the command of the Armenian side will decide what to do, “We have signed the agreement just for it, formerly there wasn’t such a thing.” Anahit Bakhshyan, member of Yerevan Council of Elders “Barev Yerevan” faction, expressed her concern that the RA MoD doesn’t have a hot line. Artsrun Hovhannisyan commented, saying that the Defense Ministry is neither the Ministry of Emergency Situations nor the police, and that’s why there is no need for hot line in the ministry, “The Ministry of Defense has its own mechanism of a wide range of means of providing information and receiving alarms and its issues aren’t like the issues in the abovementioned ministries. That’s why, we cannot see any need for it. During those days, when the situation was tense, the hot line operated. During the usual days there is no need for that.”
