Lawmaker Aragats Akhoyan to speak about Archbishop Ateşyan's move
On Wednesday, June 8, Aragats Akhoyan, a lawmaker representing the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction in the National Assembly, will express his opinion on the letter of Archbishop Aram Ateşyan addressed to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the letter, Ateşyan defined the passing of the resolution as “abuse of Armenian nation by imperialist forces”. Claiming that the decision caused a deep regret in Armenian nation, he said “we submit our regret to your dignified office.” The Turkey-based Armenian newspaper Agos responded to Archbishop Aram Ateşyan in an open letter in which the newspaper condemned the Archbishop’s move.
