By a decree of the Armenian President, Armen Gevorgyan has been appointed Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan today introduced the newly-appointed Secretary to the staff of the National Security Council, wishing him success in his new position. “Armen Gevorgyan has enough experience to be able to properly perform his duties as Secretary of the National Security Council. He is an established figure. I have worked with him for 20 years and I cannot remember him failing in his duties at least once in these 20 years. I am sure that within a short period of time with our assistance he will be able to show to our public and state once again that the National Security Council is an important link in our state government system. As you all know, the National Security Council is an advisory body, but there has not been a single major issue that would not be discussed at the Council and that a decision would not be made on it as a result of this discussion,” Serzh Sargsyan said. Thanking the President for the confidence, Armen Gevorgyan said, "I am sure that through our join efforts we will be able to justify the expectations that people have from this structure.”
