Azat Arshakyan, an ex-member of Armenia's Supreme Council, welcomes Jirayr Sefilyan’s appeal to return the 800 hectares of land that we lost in the four-day April clashes in Karabakh. “I think that the opposition should demand that the government punish all those who are responsible for so many victims in the four-day skirmishes. They should find out who allowed a captain to take a holiday on March 30 or 31. Who are those irresponsible people and how could they go on holiday when the country was on the eve of war?” he said. Azat Arshakyan is also concerned about the funds allocated for armament. “Where is the money? If we did not have money to buy cars, we could travel on foot. If we did not have money we could not open Ministry of Diaspora or Ministry of Culture, but we should allocate part of the money to the Ministries of Defense, Education and Health, others could get by without money and blue-eyed secretaries…” Mkrtich Minasyan from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) disagreed with Azat Arshakyan. He says people responsible for four-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh have been punished. The HHK lawmaker says it is not the right moment to call for the return of the 800 hectares of land. “We cannot and should not be guided by emotions and move ahead without professional analysis,” Mr Minasyan said.
