Varuzhan Hakobyan, a former military doctor, has recently returned from Karabakh where he visited border military positions with two working teams from Aragatsotn province. Mr Hakobyan says sick freedom fighters and servicemen on the frontline needed medicines and hygiene products. “It is very easy to find different reasons and say this or that item is missing. Military medicine has had serious and obvious progress. All little shortcomings can be attended. There were minor sanitation and hygiene problems which were also addressed,” he said. Speaking about the fundraising for the armed forces, Mr Hakobyan said, “Our army is equipped with the necessary medical equipment. We have medical supplies, equipment and techniques. But the more we have, the better for the army. I saw new vehicles which I guess have arrived recently.” The doctor was especially delighted to see representatives of 2-3 generations in the same military positions. “Only our nation can carry out that work. We have the culture to love the young and respect the old which ensured the fighting spirit of our soldiers,” he added.
