TROLLEYBUSES' CRISIS

Social

About 40 trolleybuses havn't been functioning for the second day in Yerevan. Electrotransport drivers complain with the situation in the system. They are as well not pleased with unreal demands that are put against them.

According to the laws in force in trolleybuses depot, one driver is to pay the Governing Body 9.000 drams out of the 5 routes made daily. The drivers complain with the sum to be paid calling it unreal if considering that nowadays mainly insolvent people get on trolleybuses and several minibuses as well function in one trolleybus route. The drivers say they don't know where the summs collected are directed to. They also say they are not paid for their salaries and no spare parts are being bought.

Because of having collected less sums than was to 18 drivers haven't been allowed to get the route 2 days ago. Proceeding from feeling of friendship the rest 60 either refused to go to work. The Governing Body asserts that damage of about 500.000 drams had been done to the State becouse of that. During the staff and the Governing Body joint sittings attempts to find a mutually profitable ways for the problem solution are made but none of both sides expressed a will to meet any half - ways.

By the way, it seems none of Mass Media is interested in the problems of the staff having gone on strike. During 2 days no one had been interested why several electrotransports didn't function in the capital city.
